Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly

Collapsing Cities

A great Talent, check out this young mans genre blending tunage. Sam Duckworth and his band have created an exciting collection of pop tunes. This is the first single from his latest offering, his third album which this time is self titled. Fantastic.

Matt and Kim

Two parts rock, one part swagg! Soulja Boy, Andrew WK and Matt and Kim have risen from the dead to throw a raging dance party in a morgue. The mortician has left for the night, the limbs are fresh and there’s formaldehyde on ice. Check out the brand new video for “I’m A Goner.”

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds

If I had A Gun

Surprise surprise guess what this sounds like! Another new track released to radio from Oasis, I mean Noel. What do we think?

Lenny Kravitz

Lenny's new video for "Stand" from the new album 'Black And White America" out now. I'm not sure this track is that great but the video is!

The xx

VCR

Love this track from English indie band The xx, taken from their debut album that won the 2010 Mercury prize. Their influences range from traces of post-punk, dream pop, dubstep, indie pop, and R&B that pop up at any given moment. Enjoy.

Jack Penate

Pull my heart away

Taken from Jacks' second album "Everything is new" from a couple years back, one of those albums you should have in your collection, great pop music and about time we had some new material.

Charlie Simpson

Down Down Down / Parachutes

Now this is a pretty convincing transition! Let's just forget about his early career (Boy band nonsense) and appreciate some great singer song writer creations. Quality stuff, truly impressive, taken from his first solo record out now.

The Black Ghosts - When Animals Stare by TheBlackGhosts

Alice Cooper

I'll Bite your face off

The nightmare returns more than 35 years later, the master of shock rock is back with his new nightmare. This first release from "Welcome 2 My Nightmare" sounds like he is continuing where he left off! Classic stuff. (If you like that sort of thing!)

SBTRKT

Wildfire / Hold On

And now for something completely different! Great debut record from this London DJ producer bloke, he's been making a name for himself in the last couple of years doing remix work with the likes of Radiohead, Basement Jaxx and Underworld. The first track here features Yukimi of Little Dragons. Get down with your bad selves and get funky with some dub step.

The Muppets

The Green Album

How cool is this, new versions of the Muppets classics we know with an indie rock twist. The Album features OK Go, My Morning Jacket, Weezer and many more. Good clean family fun!

Kasabian

Days are Forgotten

Marvelous track from their forthcoming long player "Velociraptor" due out mid September. This band just gets better and better. They've even done a remix version of this song with LL Cool J!!

The Reason

The Longest Highway Home

Criminally under rated band from Canada, this single is from their latest album "Fools" (a road trip and a van party!) I've also included some other tracks, you must buy their record!!!

Stereo MCs (Artist Spotlight)

Stereo MCs

I have loved this band since their commercial breakthrough in the early nineties. This English electronic dance group were formed in Clapham, London in 1985.  They are best known for their transatlantic hit single "Connected" released back in 1992.

I have included the new album "Emperor's Nightingale" (due out August 30th) on the Artist Spotlight page.

Rival Sons

Pressure and Time

Some good old fashioned kick ass blues rock n roll, a serious old school thing going on here, but done incredibly well. If you like classic rock, you will most certainly love this. Title track from the band's first major label release. (Yes it sounds like Led Zep in a major way! But that's a good thing right?)

Mat Kearney

Hey Mama

OK so I'm showing my softer side here, Mat (with one T) has been around for a while and had his tunes on all kinds of TV shows, a great talent in the world of singer-song writers. He adds a unique twist to his sound with the use of some hip hop stylings. This is his new single from "Young Love" his fourth album. ( I've also thrown in a couple of my faves for your listening pleasure)

Little Dragon

Ritual Union

Ritual Union is the third studio album by Swedish electronic band Little Dragon. Swedish-Japanese singer Yukimi Nagano has an amazing voice and has already made guest appearances on records by Gorillaz and SBTRKT. Ones to watch and my album of the month.
